In this class I will be demonstrating four complete paintings, fast sketches,journal pages, as well as creating rich, plastered layered substrates. There are 17 videos in the class as well as 3 separate pdf’s to download with step by step instructions.

I start out demonstrating on wood panels how to create textured backgrounds using Venetian plaster or joint compound. I use stencils as well as low relief carving techniques  specifically for the collage angel (which is one of my favorite paintings )!  I create a relief halo around the figure which really adds to the interest and focus of the painting.

I then demo how to make quick loose sketchy paintings by working very quickly to really get expression and freshness. This really helps to loosen up for the next several paintings.

I combine acrylics with inks and charcoal for truly mixed media paintings.

I also demo a journal page starting out with collage and loose painting on top.

Its a very full class with a lot of painting demos to create a variety of angel like images.
